15 Mai Gaia & Dubos Collection Launch
Gaia & Dubos recently launched their first collection of high-end ecological and ethical clothing for women, with a fun and friendly 5 à 7 event at Notman House. Classic and elegant, the new collection represents the brand’s statement of commitment to sustainable high quality fashion, and includes a series of transformable or customizable designs, made of silk, linen, recycled polyester, organic cotton and milk fibre.
While all the other fabrics are quite common in today’s fashion industry, we were quite (pleasantly) surprised to see a textile derived from milk. Even though milk fibre exists for almost a century now, it’s only recently that it started getting attention as an eco-friendly material. And not only is it environmentally-friendly, it’s also highly durable, absorbs humidity very well, and is also very soft to the touch and very comfortable to wear. One of the statement pieces of the collection is a beautiful milk fibre lace top, embroidered exclusively for Gaia & Dubos.

During the May 5th Collection Launch event, guests had the opportunity to admire the new collection in the form of a photo exhibition, were able to try on the new designs and get their measurements taken for ordering custom fitted garments. And of course, the event was a great occasion to meet Léonie Daignault-Leclerc, the designer and founder of Gaia & Dubos. Léonie has a College Diploma in Fashion Design, a Bachelor in Fashion Merchandising and a Master of Arts in Fashion, and a series of internships in Paris, Madrid and Toronto. Gaia & Dubos is the result of all of Léonie’s studies, combined with her love and devotion for the planet and humanity.
